    No it doesn't. It works fine, in fact for the very purposes you want to
    use it for..I'm doing exactly that in one of the labs we support. The
    only kicker is that the printer either has to support Macs (which the
    Deskwriter may or may not do) or be a PostScript printer. GDT Printworks
    sells drivers you can use with the printer...that'll work too. (ISTR
    that the HP drivers only work over the serial port)
