I recommend using Linux, and a spiffy program called Netatalk (
ftp://ftp.cobaltnet.com:/pub/users/asun/release/ and a HOW-TO at
http://thehamptons.com/anders/netatalk/ ). This, in combination with a
fairly simple Perl script, can do what you need it to do (and is much
faster/reliable than MacOS AppleShare/ASIP ever dreamed of being :)
