Next message: Will Porter: "[WinMac] Wintel purchase recommendations sought"
I just had a similar thing happen last week with a big Apple 21"
monitor. It had been in use until about 2 weeks ago when one of our
staff got their new G4 with the new matching 21" monitor. Her former
Mac (a PowerMac 9600) and the 21" Apple monitor got put in an used
office until I could get time to clean it up by doing a low level format
on the disk and a fresh install of the Mac OS. When I did that last
week I used a 17" monitor attached to the 9600 because the 17" was handy
and a whole lot lighter than that Apple 21". Anyway all went fine and
when I was done I tried to swap out the 17" monitor in favor of the 21".
The power light on the monitor came on but I got absolutely nothing on
the screen. I tried all of the same things I had suggested to you the
week before and none of it worked. I finally tried the 21" on my Mac
and it too would not show me anything.
I'm afraid I still don't have an answer for you either. The monitor is
currently over at our computer repair facility. The repair guy thinks
something's gone out on it but I'm not so sure. When and if I find out
anything specific I will post it to the list.
