However, the Imac DV's still have some serious USB problems . . . getting much
less serious all the time . . . but still significant.

The original Aiport 1.0 software wasn't very stable and does not de-install itself
when you install the Airport 1.1 update -- this causes problems and freezes until
you find it. (The new Aiport software 1.1 is great . . . the Software Base Unit
takes the place of the hardware base unit) . . . .

The tech that installed the DSL for us was surprised that he didn't have to install
a card in the computer and that all he really had to do was plug in the ethernet
connector to the base unit and put in a few numbers into the Airport Admin Utility
and hit the "update" button (we did need to restart the computer to get it to let
go of the former settings). We also have dial up capabuility now on the computer's
internal 56kmodem, the Base unit's 56k modem and the DSL modems internal modem (I
think it has one, cause the tech ran the telephone line into it).

Back to . . . Iomega drivers conflict with Apple's built in USB driver big-time
(USB Device Extension). Don't try running Iomega's main driver and Apples drivers
at the same time. You can run the Iomega USB drivers and Apples USB Device
Extension simultaneously . . . just not the Blue Icon Iomega Driver.[Image]

My Dad has an ImacDV SE that works beautifully with an old scussi-Jaz and an old
scussi Epson ES-600C scanner and an old HP serial printer and USB floppy installed
as peripherals and an Airport Base unit attached to an ADSL or DSL (?) modem (he
didn't know the DSL was something special), etc. . . . He is using a microtech
USB-Scussi adapter and a Keystone (?) serial adapter.

On the other hand, my ImacDV Standard edition is a little more buggy, though my
peripherals are newer and mostly USB. But it's coming around better all the time.

Oh yeah! My Dad and I both network through the air at 11 megabits per second (10
base ?) no wires attached and very speedy thanks . . . wow what a difference from
the old 28.8k modem (not long ago). We could network up to 10 macs this way
through one base unit . . . and since every Mac can now be a Base unit in its'
software I think the potential possibilities are darn near limitless for the near
    future.

    Anyway . . . that's my 2¢ on the ImacDV/Airport
