[WinMac] IR file transfer

Evening all,

If I put two Win98 notebooks next to each other, their IR ports establish a
connection and I can transfer files from one to the other by dragging them
onto an IR recipient icon - just like that.

I believe that if you put two Powerbooks next to each other, you can do the
same thing.

Today a colleague and I tried it with a Powerbook G3 (non bronze, MacOS 8.5)
and a Portege (Win 98). The two machines detected each other's presence
(i.e. the Portege produced an "IR recipient" icon with the Mac's name, and
the Mac correctly identified the Portege by name), but we couldn't get
further.

Can't find anything in the two machines help systems or on the Web
(including the WinMac archive). Any suggestions?

John
