> Hello everyone!

Does anyone know this one :
I'm running a G4 with 256 ram/ 0s 8.6/ Umax Astra 2000U scanner . I had
Explorer 4.5.1 crash while I was working on some html pages. I had photoshop
5.5 and Dreamweaver 3 open as well. Explorer gave error type 10 and froze the
box. I had to reboot on the front. Now I cannot get explorer to work . I mean
REALLY DOES NOT WORK! I have done the following:

Reloaded
Unloaded (trying ms's version of remove)
Deleted (numerous times) every ms library, preference etc - even fonts and
reloaded using the original CD rom, a download fron MS and a download from
cnet's archive (removing all stuff everytime).
Scanned for virus (Norton antivirus - most recent copy) - none
ran disk repair (Norton & macs)
tried launch with all extensions off, minimal extension - os only, - 8.6 base
and 8.6 all - reloading ms requirements with those tries
I have tried with scanner not attached, with it attached (I know , but it was
at least worth a try...)
I think I have tried just about everything I could......

Netscape works fine and so does every other program including Outlook - just
explorer does the same thing each time - locks the machine up hard (Cannot
force quit etc.....) Sometimes there are no errors - just frozen. If it does
error it just says type 10. I need to use explorer as this is what I'm working
with for the company's intranet site (there's a pretty big difference and...
well the rest of our company is PC based). Now, I know I should jump to 9 but I
don't have time now to do a clean install and I can't believe I would have to
reload the os just to get explorer working. Let me know if anyone has a
suggestion/fix.

Thanks
Lu Kondor
