Oops!
I'll wager it's on your C: drive.
You originally installed MS/DOS on that partition, then installed NT, then
converted it to NTFS, and then shared the entire drive as a MacFile share.
First off, sharing the root level of ANY drive for MacFile service is BAD:
All sorts of flaky things can happen. You need to remove the MacFile share,
put all of the folders you want to share to the Macs into a single folder,
and then share it with the old name so the Macs can still map correctly,
i.e. no file links will break.
Second off, when you convert a partition from FAT to NTFS you can ONLY get
512 byte clusters... Better keep Diskeeper running on a pretty aggressive
schedule to keep the MFT Zone clear, since the file records in NTFS are
1024 bytes long. With the 512 byte cluster size the file records can become
*badly* fragmented *quickly*, killing performance.
Cheers!
