[WinMac] Mac processor upgrades

We are looking at getting one (or two) of the new high-end G4s but we
also have a number PowerMacs that are of the pre-G3 era. Things like a
PowerMac 9600 with dual 200MHz processors, a PowerMac 9500 with dual
180MHz processors and my trusty and reliable PowerMac 8500/120. I have
to say that because that's what I'm using to send this email. :)

There is really nothing wrong with these PowerMacs except that they are
not the fastest around anymore but yet they are still quite usable.
After all, not everyone needs the fastest computer available. We want
to give our digital scanning people these new high-end G4s but their old
9600 & 9500 PowerMacs are useful to others in the department.

Is it worth getting a G3 or G4 upgrade card to put into these machines?
I know the bus architecture on the motherboard may limit me from getting
equal performance from a true G3 or G4 but it may extend the life of
these PowerMacs. Any thoughts, experiences and brand recommendations
would be greatly appreciated.
