[WinMac] SMTP authentication with Outlook Express for Mac

We use Exchange Server (5.5 SP2) for email. To prevent strangers using our
server for spamming we want to set routing restrictions in the internet mail
service to limit mail relay to "hosts and clients that successfully
authenticate".

Seemed simple. But we can't find the setting to tell Outlook Express for
Macintosh (v4.50410) that the server wants authentication.

I presume I'm missing something simple. Help!
