You suggestions raise an issue I should have mentioned. The graphics
will be imported into desktop publishing programs and word processors.
They will NOT be stand-alone files/images.

But, do desktop publishing programs, e.g. PageMaker, allow pdf's to be
imported? Unfortunately, I'm using Quark 3.1 for my own work, and I
believe the graphics I am preparing will be used mostly in Word97 and
PageMaker for Windows 6.0. If these programs do import pdf's, then your
suggestion is a wonderful solution.

Thanks,
Vic

PS- Even if the programs do not import pdf's, I just might create a pdf
anyway that could copied and then pasted into the respective program
from Acrobat Reader. My limited experience is that tiff images
converted to pdf and then to PICT or WMF do not fare well, but the
graphics I need to make should not include any tiffs.
