The local network gurus tell me that full duplex is marketing hype. Being
the suspicious type I tried it both ways and they were right, at least for
my setup, because I get *much* better throughput with things set to half
duplex. I can go to them and get the technical details if you are interested
in hearing them.

Since the only two machine I have that are trying to use full duplex are a
couple of Macs that don't communicate directly to each other, it is not
critically important that I make them stop trying. But it hurts my pride to
not be able to force them to use half duplex.
