We've got an 8500 here and it costs us about 7.7 cents per page for all
consumables. I don't know how that compares but it is more than reasonable
for us. It's fast (6 color ppm), it prints beautifully and Quark has not
choked it yet.

We had and evaluation 4500 here also, it too was fast (4 color ppm), it
printed cmyk files even better than the 8500 and was very reasonably priced
considering the Canon CLBP 360 we were replacing.

I do agree with Dan about the RAM.
