Hi Brooke. i'm cc'ing this reply to the WinMac mailing list, which
you really should subscribe to, because we talk about this kind of

Anyways, assuming that your server is an NT Server, and that your
network is Ethernet, i don't see any reason why you shouldn't make
those whiny users work straight from the server.

That is to say: get rid of the "Work to be Backed Up" folder that's
local on their Macs, and just make an alias (call it the same thing)
that points to their home directory on the server.

Find your orneryiest user, and try it on him/her first. If you can
swing it, don't even tell them (a la the "Folgers Crystals" trick).
Unless something is severely screwed up on your network, i think the
network should be able to deal with it.
