I don't know if this will help, but I just got a PIII 450 at work to
replace my PII 266. I had the PII dual booting Win95 and NT4/WS
mostly because I thought that the best use of the 2GB left on my 6GB
drive after NT's installer informed me it couldn't deal with
formatting/creating a partition larger than 4GB (stupid).

So......

Wanting my ENTIRE new 8GB disk to be NT, here's what I did: I took
the drive out of my new machine and slaved it to my exisiting
machine. I booted into NT and formatted the drive (ALL of it) NTFS.
Then I put it back into the NEW machine, booted from CD (it's about
time PCs had this feature!) and the NT installer thought that was
just ducky. I installed it and am running just fine.

Your mileage may vary,
