[WinMac] linking tables in FileMaker 4.1 (Mac) and MSAccess97

One of my colleagues would like to use the Link Tables feature of Microsoft
Access97 to connect directly to a table inside a FileMaker database. We have
several related questions:

Let's assume for the sake of simplicity that the FileMaker database is
maintained by a Macintosh user and resides on a Novell drive that accommodates
both Mac and PC. Is it theoretically possible to link a Windows 98 client
running Microsoft Access97 to the FileMaker table? If so, what must we install
or configure in order to make this work?

Now for the real situation: The FileMaker database is maintained by a Macintosh
user and resides on a Macintosh workstation running FileMaker server software.
(I believe that this Macintosh is *not* an AppleShare server.) Is it
theoretically possible to link under these circumstances also? What would you
recommend as the simplest strategy for doing so?

Thanks in advance for your help,
Terry Dash
