Thanks to all who replied to my previous post.(its a bit long, so skip to
next message if not relevant to you)

I successfully connected over the weekend to download my football tipping
file. History was achieved on the weekend, with Tony "Plugger" Lockett
kicking his 1,300th career goal, an all time record, besting the previous
all-time record of 1,299 career goals held by Gordon Coventry. The record
stood for over 60 years. Check it out at
http://www.afl.com.au/7newsafl/plugger.htm

Anyway, here is what I did

1. Created a new configuration in AppleTalk and TCP/IP called Remote Access
(DAVE)

        AppleTalk -> connect via PPP
TCP/IP -> configure via PPP and DHCP

2. Create a location via location manager (hey, I assume the multiple login
technology in Sonata will extend this highly useful control panel) called
Remote Access. I set it up to point to the above AppleTalk and TCP/IP
configurations (as well as a special Conflict Catcher set of extensions and
control panels - ensuring my modem and remote access control panels are
activated)

3. Reboot with the new location. Ignore the NetBIOS not working error
message

4 Activate the Remote Access Control panel and type in the telephone number
of the remote location. Make sure that "connect to a command line host" is
selected in the options tab.

5. Login screen comes up, much same as if dialling into and ISP. Type in
my username and password. Then type in PPP to activate the connection via
TCP/IP

6. Go into NetBIOS control panel to make sure an IP address is
obtained.

7. Use DAVE as would normally to mount servers etc.

8. Boot Outlook to see if works - YES!!! I can read email remotely

9. Boot Internet Explorer to see if can surf :-( No can do. Try to look
for volumes in the chooser and none there - which may explain why IE 4.5
can't see the proxy server.

10. Disconnect in the remote access control panel

11. Boast to wife about my legendary status. She nods knowingly and says
"Yes dear, its a good thing you have friends like Dan and Alex to help you"

Cheers
