ATM Deluxe 4.0 had problems with Photoshop and Illustrator, etc. But I
don't know exactly all the symptoms it creates. Could be this in one of
them. At work on a B&W G3 I get crashes and freezes ocasionally with
Photoshop and Illustrator (I AM running ATM 4.0 until I can get the new
one) but haven't see that -42 error yet...

Also, check www.macintouch.com for 8.6 specific problems, could be you
have another incompatible file.
