Actually, the AppleTalk naming and zone membership is handled in the
PostScript® SIMM(s), not in the MIO card. I discovered this about 4 years
ago when I upgraded (replaced) my LJ4M from the original LocalTalk MIO card
to a $300 JetDirect 2552 MIO card.

It could be that the NVRAM on the PostScript® SIMM(s) isn't
working fully
up to snuff. Throw a test page and look at the copy counter to see if it
too has reset. The NVRAM should last almost forever, because on my (>5 year
old) LJ4M it was disconnected from the 120 volt power for almost 8 weeks
when it was in my old location. When I powered it back up a few weeks ago,
all the settings were exactly where I left them.

        Cheers!
