Hello. This is slightly off-topic, but was mentioned here "recently"
I've got a frined with a Performa 5200 whom I'm helping to get it on the
internet with a cable modem. To make a long story short, MacTCP doesn't
seem to work with the DHCP server that our cable provider has and I was
wondering if anyone knew of an alternative that we might use. I know
someone asked the same question here and was given a bunch of options, so
I'm asking again :)
I can't use TCP/IP because we can't load OPen Transport on this machine
due to a hardware limitation (needs replacemente of the cache/rom DIMM).
We might get around to doing that, but for now he wants to surf. I can't
remember if there is a way to run Classic Networking on system 7.6.1 and
above, right now we're on 7.5.1.
