what computer are they running the firewall on? NT? Unix/Linux? And do
you know what software they're using for the firewall?

Hi,
We are trying to get Mac ftp clients to work with MS Proxy 2.0 using SOCKS.

Does anyone use this setup and have it working?

We've tried several ftp clients and played with passive/non-passive
transfers with no luck, any suggestions?

Thanks,

Is there a way to prevent the "Get QuickTime Pro" alias/shortcut from
reappearing after each use of QuickTime 3 in MacOS/Win9x?

In Windows95, I looked in the registry and at QTW.INI and neither made
any mention of a setting regarding this annoying habit. Locking down the
desktop completely might do the trick, but I don't want to do that.

Nothing on the Apple support pages I searched mentioned this, either.

I apologize if this is slightly off-topic.

I seem to remember that, at least on the Mac side, the original QT3
installer forced the get QuickTime Pro movie to stay on the desktop no
matter what you tried. Shortly after that, Apple released an updated
installer that wasn't quite so persistent (it placed it there during the
install but let you delete it later). You might try getting a fresh install
package from the Apple site.

Of course, you could always upgrade to the Pro version. '-)
