RE: [WinMac] More Errors Server Troubles

I think what Theresa may be describing is the Location Manager Control Strip
module. Mine appears with two preference-type documents and a pair of red
arrows pointing right and left. When I click-and-hold on the control strip
item, I get a pop-up from which I can select from a list of location
settings or open the Location Manager control panel.

During the startup process we all view an icon parade across the bottom of
the screen. The icons are displayed in alphabetic order within type. For
instance Extensions are loaded before Control Panels. If you can recognize
the icons for one or more software component (e.g., Adobe Type Manage
displays a lower-case red "a" and is nearly last because it name begins with
a tilde) you can inspect the Extensions or Control Panels folders for a
problem. You can also view "As Folders", sorted by name in the Extensions
Manager if that helps.

However, Dan's advice is good. On a server use the minimum number of
additional system enhancements. Know why each thing you add is there. You
can even eliminate non-essential Apple stuff. For instance, Speech
Recognition or Remote Access Client don't often had a use on a server.
