Dan's, as well as Larry Larraga's comments about how the Calendar
function doesn't translate well between platforms is disconcerting.

I was about to give the go-ahead on a trial Exchange install on
one of our NT servers to give our network the ability to share
email addresses, contact lists, to do lists as well as scheduling.

We use NT and Mac on our workstations. Recently, a godforsaken
Win98 made its way in here (on an ultralight Sharp laptop) so we
have that in the equation, as well as the ubiquitous PalmPilots.

Throw in the fact that the majority of the workstations run the
Japanese versions of the OSs (our servers are mostly UN?X, some
English NT) and there's an interesting mix of not only platforms
but languages (single-byte vs. double-byte).

So, if Exchange won't cut the mustard with our needs for email
addresses, contact lists, to do lists, and scheduling - what will?

Is it time for Lotus Notes, err, Domino?

Seriously, I am open to consider anything - that will work.

You don't have to worry about the Japanese issue - we'll test and
see if that works.

Anyone working with not only cross-platform issues but also along
the single/double-byte divide are welcome to contact me directly.

PS
MacOS X has been released.... which means I just won a couple of old
bets since "the OS formerly known as NT5" is nowhere near store shelves.
