[WinMac] CD-I've fallen and I can't get up

I have a PowerMac w/MOS 8.0. The CD rom only recognizes
a start up disk such as the MOS, Drive set up, or NDD.
When an audio or program cd is inserted nothing show up on the
desktop. I feel that the drives are not functioning
correctly. It just started all of a sudden. No software
had been introduced.
