This is all very disturbing. Our organization had been given a range of IP
addresses from an ISP that has quickly run out. As we are presently adding
15 to 30 workstations, my suggestion was to implement a proxy server and
use protected addresses for the internal net. At another location, I had
set up a Mac using Vicom Gateway to allow access from a variety of
machines. At my present location, an NT server running MS Exchange is set
up. Mail clients use POP to get mail from there, which should present no
problem. I was hoping this machine could serve as a proxy server, but from
these comments, that doesn't look good. We need ftp services for several
machines and internet access from most all. Is there another route to go?
