A clean reboot, but I shut it down on the Start menu rather than going thru
the UPS, which can cause problems (or so I'm told).

ie you have to back up and restore?

Nothing about Mac volumes etc. How do you do a rebuild?

This is what is happening. I'm installing the sp4 patch tonight, so we'll
see whether that does the trick (MS technote Q191285 suggests this).
