Not really: There are two ways to connect a Mac to a NetWare server:
One way is to force the Macs to run the IPX stack; and this requires the
special client you describe;
The other way is to load APPLETLK.NLM at the server itself, which allows
the Macs to connect up via the AppleTalk stack.
