We don't use the SMB services with ASIP here in-house, although I have tried
(unsuccessfully) to get my ASIP box to show up in the Network Neighborhood.
Of course, that could be a me problem, and since we don't need it I haven't
tried very hard.

I think the primary thing is that Windows95/98/NT users must use the Macs 32
character filename limit (including the four characters you need for the
period and the extension). And since the Mac and the PC have different
restricted characters (the Mac uses ":" to delineate directories whereas the
PC uses "\" or is it "/"), that can cause problems.
