RE: [WinMac] Re: Mac Outlook 8.1 Client Install Problems

My thoughts on "Outlook For Macintosh, Exchange Server Edition" service
pack 2 client are:

It is much more stable than the service pack 1 version.
It plays nicer with ATM, esp. after upgrading to ATM 4.03, but still wants
things like the Tahoma font in the system folder.
TCP connectivity is much better in service pack 2 client.

That being said, it is still somewhat slow, and I don't really prefer or
recommend it to anyone. It has many shortcomings, for instance our Faxcom
system sends users faxes as email attachments. PC users can simply
double-click the attachment to launch the viewer, but Mac users must open
the faxes from within the faxcom viewer (after downloading the attachment to
their hard drive) to view them.

I would switch our Mac users over to Eudora Lite or something similar, but
have experienced trouble getting non-Outlook clients to connect with our
Exchange server. Essentially they just accept that their email isn't as
good as their counterparts with PCs; those lucky users with 2 machines tend
to use their $3K WinNT box solely for email and the Mac for everything else.
