        Make sure you do the following:

        1) Update to SP4... AFTER running RDISK /S

        2) Bypass traverse checking by adding the following DWORD to:
 HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\FileSystem

 NtfsDisableLastAccessUpdate REG_DWORD=1

        This important addition removes the third time stamp on files: When they
were last accessed. This is important to stop this disk write from
occurring when searching;

        3) If you don't have any 16 bit legacy apps running (Check to see if the
NTVDM process is active), then also in:
 HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\FileSystem

 NtfsDisable8dot3NameCreation REG_DWORD=1

        5) Add more memory... It's cheaper than therapy! :)
