If I remember correctly it is true that the Mac version of most fonts don't
have fraction characters. Windows fonts have a few more slots in their
character encoding to allow fractions and the Mac versions include some
ligatures that windows fonts don't have I believe. On the Mac fractions
were often included in "expert" sets with special ligatures, numerals etc.
We use to have to make fractions in fontagrapher alot in the old days on
the Mac.
