We have been using Arcserve for years now to backup both servers and
workstations. It used reside on a Novell 4.10 server (which it backed up)
and it would back up another Novell server (3.12) and various mix of
workstations. Last spring we moved to an NT Server and got the NT version
of Arcserve and use it to backup our NT workstations as well. There is a
MacAgent available but back when we used to run Arcserve on the Novell
server the Mac backup was always kind of hit and miss and after fooling
around with that for a few years we got fed up and got another 8mm tape
unit and Retrospect Remote which has worked really well for the Macs. The
Arcserve system works great for the server and PC workstations. So we have
two backup systems. The current tape on the NT server is a DLT tape which
is nice for the huge capacity that it has.
