Short answer: Keep the Macs.

Download the ROI TechBrief at http://www.apple.com/publishing/collateral/. I
used it last summer to help convince our CFO to buy Macs for my publishing
department. They paid for themselves within two days of arrival, just on the
film output cost difference compared with Windows NT Postscript files. Now
we're saving money every time we send a book to press. These savings do not
take into account the extra productivity we get by using Macs

And before anyone bashes me for that statement realize that I work for a
company that writes Windows network management software. I'm surrounded by
Windows computers of all types, and see what problems people have with them.
Macs aren't perfect, of course, but for graphics and publishing they're a
far better solution than any Windows system I've seen.

What convinced our CFO was the cost difference between Macintosh and Windows
imagesetter film output. As I mentioned above, the Macs paid for themselves
on the first print run.

If you need any more help feel free to contact me directly.

Good luck,
