[WinMac] Illegal characters [WAS: NT server and Mac]

        Dear Ingmar (and everyone else):

        Ingmar makes an *excellent* point!

        Here are a few more characters to avoid in naming files and
folders/directories:

        Beginning with a period, i.e. ".sony" -- This is reserved for Mac driver
files;

        Beginning with an "Option-Space" -- This is sort of a "foreign character"
in windows;

-> Spaces in folder names -- This one is a bit tricky because although they
are supposedly legal in Windows NT, it can *still* choke the Registry if
that directory is entered in there.

        [I was tipped off to this issue by DIGITAL's FX!32 team with the "X86
System32" directory. In an early version of the FX!32 translation software
this directory was called out in the Registry without quotes, and this
caused problems at times. **This is important because the root level of
MacFile directories are also called out in the Registry.**]

        Cheers!
        Dan
