[WinMac] Update Word and Excel Files?

I am in the process of converting a formerly all mac office to almost all
PC's (I am the last Mac holdout). We are currently running a Mac as our
fileserver using Dave to allow the PC's to see the files. I used name
cleaner to append .XLS and .DOC to all of our old office files, so right
now the PC's can see and use the files.

My question is does anyone have a script or macro which I can use to scan
the hard drives on the server, open all the files which are in previous
versions (Word 3, 4, 5, Excel 4 & 5) and update those files to the
current Office 98 file format?

Also does anyone have any suggestions about how to handle other legacy
files. We still have a lot of old files in WriteNow.

Thanks,
Pat
