dunno about the 310, but we had a lot of problems with our three 4/600
prining Acrobat files. The hint is to set the Error Handling option in the
LaserWriter 8 to Summarize on Screen. The PostScript error message was some
like "VMError..." which basically means it ran out of memory (pdf files are
more complex than most other files, irrespective of size). So upgrading
memory from 2->6M has helped a lot.

Of course your problem may be something else, but having the PS error
message such as Print Detailed Report can be useful. The problem might be
finding someone to interpret
