Sounds like a job for unicode. If FileMaker can't save your text directly
using unicode, you can always use Microsoft Word as a "helper app".

        1) Export your FileMaker records to a text file.
        2) Open the file with Word (in Windows) and save it as a unicode file.
        3) Move the file over to the Mac and open it with Word on the Mac.
        4) Save it as a text file.

It's a gross multi-step process but it'll work.
