[WinMac] HELP! AFP_Info corruption!

We have a DEC Alpha 2100A running WinNT4SP3 with 150GB of RAID shared
in 5 Mac volumes. Recently, the server has been losing the Mac sharing
info, and large numbers of files (even entire directories or volumes)
have been disappearing from view on the Mac side.

We've seen this many times before on a small scale. Our solution has
always been to move files off of the Mac-shared volume, then back into
place, forcing NT to re-write the AFP_Info, thereby causing the files to
reappear to the Macs.

However, our server recently took a major turn for the worse, with the
corruption reaching massive proportions.

We are going to attempt a clean start this weekend - back it all up,
wipe the drives, reinstall and restore 150GB of data. My concern is this
- Will we be restoring the corruption back to the drives? Should we
delete the Mac volumes prior to backup, thereby causing us to only back
up an NT file system? Will this eliminate the corruption and allow us to
rebuild clean Mac volumes? Or will problems remain?

If anyone has any advice out there, or at least some insight into how
NT's Mac file sharing actually works, I woul d really appreciate it.
Reply to me at filenes@cybercom.net or call me at (617) 357-2834 if you
can help. I only have one more day to prepare for this. Yipes!

Thanks in advance for any support you can offer.
