Beth,

Be aware that the Mac client uses Schedule+ format,
whereas the PC uses Outlook format (by default; you
could change it) for its calendar. The
upshot of this is that if you move between a Mac and PC,
you won't be able to see your calendar on the platform
that you didn't originally set up the calendar on.

As far as the Exchange vs Internet mail question, you
could also turn on IMAP on the server and use an IMAP
mail client (like Netscape Communicator or IE4).
