        James is right about the 7200's... To a point. The 7200 ethernet bug
mostly occurs when there is a heavy packet load on the segment...
Regardless of stack.

        First, this only affected 7200/90's; not 7200/75's. Look at the serial
number on the machine: It will be of an alphanumeric format xx545xxxx. The
key numbers are the 3rd, 4th, and 5th characters: All machines that are 543
or lower are afflicted, as are many of the 544 series and even some 545
series.

        Apple WAS replacing the logic boards at no charge when this was brought to
light: They reworked the boards by soldering in an additional clock
crystal... They tried a shortcut to use 1 crystal instead of 2 (although
the spot was originally there on the logic board); and it blew up in their
face.

        I had one customer with 4 of these machines...
