The much-ridiculed "Microsoft Bob" software let you do similar
things under Windows 95. If only it wasn't so "cute." Sadly, it got
killed off quick.

But i helped somebody set this up on their Gateway 2000 system at
home, and it was great. Kids had their "clubhouse" with all the
appropriate apps, and it kept them out of the folks' "office" with
things like Quicken and so on.

Maybe Windows 98 incorporated some of the "Bob" stuff? i dunno.
