We use Biscom's Faxcom for NT. It integrates with Exchange server, which
lets you send faxes as emails. The viewer works pretty well, and it has
both mac and pc clients. the server end of it runs on an nt box.

one drawback is that someone (often me) has to go into the mailbox for
faxcom, open the faxes, see who they are for, and forward them to the
appropriate recipient.

To send faxes, you just put [Fax:99xxx-xxx] on the address line in outlook
and it gets faxed. There was some setup required to make faxcom image
attachments like word documents and such; it costs extra but is easy to set
up.

Another annoying thing is that as of a few months ago, their software is on
floppies, which is annoying to install.

For our Big Kahuna, it routes faxes from his personal fax line to his email
inbox, which is kinda cool.

All in all it works, though the faxes are multipart TIFFs and if you don't
have the client software you can typically only see the first page of the
fax.

Caveat: I've never faxed someone from the outlook client on a mac but I'll
try if you would like.
