[WinMac] Macs, NT Qs, printer options

I print to an HP4MV via an NT print queue, and an Apple LaserWriter 630 Pro
via an NT print queue. The 630 queue prints, while the HP4MV output results
in error messages resembling octal codes.

I've excerpted the following from the FAQ:

Printing to a PCL printer via Windows NT Services for Macintosh

Mac OS doesn't ordinarily print to PCL printers. But when you
connect a PCL (ie, non-Postscript) printer to an NT Server and share it, a
Mac will see it as a LaserWriter Plus V.38. This is because Windows NT
Services for Macintosh has a Postscript RIP (raster image processor) that
intercepts the job and converts it to a 300 dpi bitmap that will print out
on any printer. The RIP emulates a LaserWriter Plus v.38, which means the
Mac should be using a LaserWriter print driver. If you try to use HP
LaserJet print drivers on the Mac, you may not be able to print to the
printer.

        (snip)

I've replaced the HP4MV driver with a standard LaserWriter driver (v23) and
the HP4MV printer now prints its output. But because the HP4MV uses the
LaserWriter driver, it's lost some of its printer options.

I also have a Konica 7050 network printer (which can, among other options,
print duplex) with an NT queue. To use this printer/queue combination, I
also have to use the LaserWriter driver. Then I lose the ability to print
duplex and other functions.

I can activate AppleTalk on the network printer, bypassing the NT queue, but
I lose the huge spool space. I can print to the speedy NT queue, but I lose
printer options.

Here's my question: How can I use the NT spooler and gain access to and use
the printer options?
