I don't see how RTF couldn't have worked. Did the documents convert but not
include *all* the formatting? There may be formatting specific WordPerfect
which Word doesn't support (or does in a different way) or it could be
dependent on a font which the Mac doesn't have.

If WordPerfect is version 8, MacLinkPlus 10 probably includes the
translator. However I don't think MacOS 8.5 will have it. Starting with
systems shipped with 8.1, Apple has stopped bundling MacLinkPlus. I think
this is a mistake but they didn't ask me.
