[WinMac] Re: Macs doing other things

        Good morning!

This person could also be referring to running apps on a central NT server
with Citrix MetaFrame. All that goes over the network are the screen draw
commands; but the actual processing is done on the central NT box. And Yes,
there is a MacOS client.

MetaFrame is being replaced by Windows NT Terminal Server edition.

Essentially, both of these products turn any desktop computer into a
semi-smart terminal... That is why it may pay to dust off those old LCII's
sitting in the closet.

On another front, you CAN boot a MacOS 8 CD on an IBM RS/6000 -- Surprise!
It turns out that the OS8 CD was also CHRP-compatible.

The one question yet to be answered is if NT will run on the iMac, since
the iMac is Mac ROMless... Unfortunately, M$ stopped suporting the PowerPC
version of NT after NT4's Service Pack 2.

        Cheers!
        Dan
