[WinMac] Macs doing other things

I briefly meet somebody the other day a a computer event who claimed
that at his work he was using old MACS LC11's etc to run successfully on
a NT network, I think he was talking about running NT on Macs instead of
the good old Mac OS.
Could he be doing this?
How?

Like others on this list i've noted limitations of the RAM i can
allocate to virtual PC. on my machine it will only accept 80meg of RAM.
i wonder if this is dependant on the hardware or version of software?
