[WinMac] TCP/IP on Win 3.1

I've set up a TCP/IP based email server on a LAN. I've added TCP to Win
95 and Mac clients with no problem but now I need to add a couple of Win
3.1 machines and I'm a bit lost. I've established that I need some
additional TCP software of which there are several options from MS and
3rd parties. I've downloaded Trumpet Winsock but this is restricted to 30
days and it seems a bit complicated saying that I may need a 'packet
driver shim' and 'winpkt'!!! I've read that MS has a product but I don't
know what it's called and a can't locate it anywhere.
Any advise on suitable TCP software (preferably freeware) and any
tips/URL's would be greatly appreciated.
