[WinMac] Claris Draw Issues

I was traveling when this discussion came up. Over the years, I have
built up an extensive library of Claris Draw graphics and drawings. We
too have been trying to deal with converting these files for use in
other software applications. Claris Draw does not seem to handle bezier
curves the same way other PICT based drawing programs do. Nothing that
I know of will open Claris Draw files in their native format. Saving
them as straight PICTS will distort curves and tend to move things
around a bit.
Over the last two years, I have tried everything that I have seen
(including Canvas) and a great number of share where programs to no
avail. When I want to use a Claris Draw file, I have a nasty workaround
that seems to help keep things in order. I blow up the drawing 400% and
then save it as a PICT. I then open it in another program and reduce it
back down to original size and save it again. This moves the image over
to straight PICT with minimal distortion.
I have spoken to Claris about this over the years and they feigned
ignorance. Even their own library items exhibit the same problems. I
certainly wish another developer would take this program over. There
are a few programs that have far greater power (Canvas for example) but
none offer its power and simplicity.
If anyone has a really clean solution to opening native Claris Draw
files... Please let me know.
