RE: [WinMac] Outlook Win-Mac Conversions

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions. Who'd have thought e-mail was this
complicated? <G>

Unfortunately, I don't have access to an Exchange Server -- we have a Novell
network with 1 NT box (running our accounting software), but our office
e-mail is on Lotus Notes. I use Outlook 98 for my personal ISP account,
which I can access through a dial-up, or through the LAN/WAN to our
corporate T1. And somehow I don't think my ISP will appreciate my putting up
15+MB of e-mail so I can retrieve it on my Mac!

Outlook Express for the Mac has a very crippled import function. I've tried
text files, and Internet News and Mail, and they just don't work. Ed Hume
suggests "downgrading" from OL98 to OE on a PC, so maybe I'll try that...
although the Mac OE doesn't list PC OE files as an import option. Maybe PC
OE has more export options than OL98. I seem to recall that PC OE stores
e-mail as separate documents, much like Netscape, rather than the container
file approach of OL98. Maybe that will work...

I'm not worried about the calendar or even the contacts -- I'll use Now
Contact/Up-To-Date for those; I eventually got the contacts from Outlook 98
into a CSV file, imported into Claris Organizer, then exported and imported
into Contact. The calendar history is not critical; I'll just work forward.
It's the e-mail history I'd really like to move over.

Any further thoughts still appreciated!

JOHN
