[WinMac] Aptiva questions and lockdown

I may have missed this earlier on the list, but I'll ask again.

We have a lab of macs that are secure and managed, but I also have a
single, publicly accessible, non-networked PC running Win95 and I was
wondering what software or tricks are available for locking it down.

Also, related to that machine is a networking question. It is a
Pentium-level Aptiva and I would like to put it on the ethernet. However,
I've been told that putting in ethernet card in it would essentially kill
the multimedia end of things. It has an MWave card inside. On another
Aptiva, late 486, an ethernet card has been installed, and yes, the sound
card appears to have been disabled as a result. Interestingly, though, on
this latter machine, Win95 reports absolutely no problem with the sound
card, multimedia software recognizes it (or doesn't complain), yet no sound
emanates even with external speakers plugged in. Any suggestions? Could IBM
have made a line of machines and been so short-sighted as to make someone
choose between sound and networkability?

Cheers,
Anthony
