The wonderful thing about IP Masquerading (Linux), or WinGate
(Windows) or Vicom Internet Gateway (Mac), or any other product that
does forwarding of packets for second or third computer, is that to
the cable company, or ISP, your traffic just looks like it's coming
from one very busy computer.

Unless the ISP (in this case, the cable company? Yah, right) is
(1) technically inclined, and (2) willing to start sniffing and
opening up the individual packets being sent from your machine, they
will not be able to charge you for that second computer.

(Unless of course you do something dumb like say, ask them to. Or
when the guy is installing the cable modem and/or Ethernet card, you
say, "Hey, have you seen my cool LAN? i'm going to hook it into the
net through that modem you're installing. For _free_!")

Bottom line is, they won't be able to prove that you just don't type
and surf really really really fast. >:} Anyways, (1) they probably
aren't technically inclined, and (2) they probably don't have the time
or resources or ability to go snooping your data very closely.

Mind you, you didn't hear this from me, and you can't prove it, since
e-mail is so easily forged. Heh.
